Owls Summer Hockey Camp an Overwhelming Success!

Special thanks go out to Palm Beach Skate and Ice Zone General Manager Mike Bunting and his professional staff for making our inaugural camp a hit with our attendees. Thank you for your support and generosity!

FAU Head Coach Tim Frost, who is also the Managing Director of the Palm Beach Predators, Head Coach of the Midget U16AA, Assistant Coach of the Predators Squirt A, and Head Coach of the Park Vista High School team was on hand along with Predator Squirt A Head Coach and U16AA Assistant Coach and FAU Ice Hockey Team Member Shane Falcon. FAU sophomore defenseman Grant Grosky used the week long camp to prepare for the upcoming 2008-2009 campaign and showed the younger players what it takes to be an FAU Owls Ice Hockey Player. Incoming FAU recruit Michael Constantino of Coral Springs also used this week to hone his impressive hockey skills.

FAU Professor of Ocean Engineering Edgar An skated during the camp and was truly an inspiration to those that love the game of hockey and are always trying to improve. Great job Edgar!

FAU Owls tryouts are scheduled for September 6th and 7th with practices beginning immediately after.

Former FAU players, coaches, and athletic alumni are being sought to play the 2008-2009 squad this coming fall at a time and location to be announced.
Please contact Coach Tim Frost at if you are interested in being on the Alumni squad or are interested in helping plan or sponsor this event. This will be a great fundraising opportunity for our Owls!

 

 
South Florida Girls and Women Summer Hockey League Forming

Games begin Thursday, June 5th at 8:00 p.m. at Ice Zone. The cost of the 10 week season is $250.00. This fee covers ice, numbered jersey, officials, and scorekeepers.

FAU Ice Hockey Player and Participant Registration

Electronic registration has shown itself to be very successful and has helped the team build a database of returning players and recruits scheduled to participate in our upcoming tryouts.

As a reminder, everyone must complete the on-line registration regardless if you are a player, Coach, or Volunteer. By registering now, you will be ensured that your information will be added to our database so that you will not miss out on notifications on upcoming events. 

In the very near future, we will be able to accept player's payments, as well as donations through our website.

Please don't wait, and encourage others to register as well. We have openings in every aspect of our team for the upcoming 2008-2009 season.

The Owls are recruiting new players and club personnel for the upcoming season. The Owls will find a place for any FAU student or faculty member interested in being a part of this dynamic team. Opportunities exist in club management and operations as well as rostered playing spots. Players and students should contact Head Coach Tim Frost at , Coach Scott Grosky at , or Team Captain and President Mike Farr at .
 
2008-2009 Season Schedule

The FAU Owls Ice Hockey Team schedule is available for viewing and downloading. Click on the tab labeled "Team", and then click on "Schedule". We have an exciting season in store for 2008-2009 and want you to be a part of it!

The Owls will kick the season off at home with back to back games against the University of South Florida (USF) Ice Bulls on September 19th and 20th. After two consecutive weekends away with two more games against USF at Brandon, followed by two games against the University of Central Florida (UCF) in Orlando, the Owls will be home for back to back games against the Florida State University Seminoles on October 10th and 11th. After a few short stints away, the Owls return to face UCF, and the University of Florida Gators on December 5th and 6th.
Other season opponents include the Citadel, and the Florida Gulf Coast University Eagles.
